Wrote this days earlier, but had to hold out until few technical issues were sorted.
Having had a million thoughts on what would be ma first blog, now when I actually sit to write, I get a writer’s block ! (don’t forget to read about this unbashful quality)
Being MA.... Indeed a topsy turvy world, ain’t it?
From being independent, terming your normal life “busy” and throwing your weight around to being completely responsible for another life, who’s a part of yourself, the most unbiased unpretentious individual, whose only source of getting through this initial phase after being tossed out of your womb, is yourself. The focus point, the central aspect of everything becomes this tiny kitten (I’d call ma first infant that not outa referring to him adoringly but because I’d literally feel a kitten was lunging onto me!). Everything else takes a setback.
As long as your l’l bundle is prioritized, the rest of the world is out of sight and ceases to exist. Cluttered look, haggard attire, messy hair becomes a part of you. Until you are coaxed into tidying yourself up. The hubby too endures secondary treatment to abide by the kitten-fussing sessions. Makes a difference though if you are in your home country with the extended family to get you through.
The saga can go on and I’m sure we all can write a book on post-delivery syndrome, the details would differ of course with the basic synopsis remaining the same. In my case, I had both ma kids within 2 years of tying the knot. I decided to give up my bank job to raise him and din’t realize when the other one came along. Then decided to wait until they would be old enough to start communicating as I was paranoid even leaving them under a nanny’s care. But I don't regret it as i have been a part of their earlier years when they need you the most and being a witness to countless memories.
Well, time flies and here I am jotting this, whilst ma kids are at school and after they are asleep. As of recently, I have started freelancing for a friend, doing a bit consulting out of home. I do sense the boyz’ hatred if I am sittin with my laptop or phone when they are around.
Well now, I get low and I get high,
And if I can't get either, I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.
I'm a dancin woman and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right. Its ok.
I'll live to see another day.
And were stayin alive, stayin alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin alive, stayin alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive.”
